I found this while surfing the intarwebz tubes. It seems to cover it nicely.

Out of Work for Now
Tough time ahead at Casa de la Simple Man. My job went away at the hospital I worked at. Although I am appealing, it takes a long time with many steps. The long and short is I need to go through this process as my employer is the only healthcare system in the very large county I live in that provides mental health services, my line of work. The nearest competitors are well over an hour away. This didn't pose a problem in the past but now is a concern with the way the world is turning. An hour in a car translates to forever on foot in a state that will not issue a CCW permit unless you have been murdered already, you gotta love New Jersey.

Sparse Postings
Sorry for the sparse posting lately. I have been very active on a twitter campaign for the NJ2AS (New Jersey Second Amendment Society) of which I am an active member and on FaceBook. I was with them when I went to the Trenton hearings. The very same hearing where a several members were thrown out for speaking, the people broke out into the Pledge of Allegiance and several of our senators were caught on open mic calling for confiscation. I have picked up a new to me S&W 40ve I'll report on. I will be Back.
Also today I lost my job. Anyone need a psychiatric nurse that can also weld, work on cars, swing a hammer and shoot?
If you are on twitter please follow @NJ2AS

Returned from Trenton
A Simple Man has turned from Trenton. This was an eye opening day. Today was a Senate committee with debate on gun citizen control measure. The hearing was scheduled to start at 9am and committee vote at 4pm. After arriving we were informed debate wouldn't begin until noon and voting would be 4pm. Also half of the bills to be debated were put of until this Thursday. So time for debate was halved and an extra day added. How many people can take off twice in one week and on such short notice. I feared that this would be a Soviet Kangaroo court and sadly I was correct. The outcome was clearly predetermined and the debate was merely a public relations exercise. All manner of constitutional arguments were made against the bills to no avail. We will see what happens in the full Senate but I am very pessimistic at this point.
Today was a lesson in how revolutions start.

A little help for a friend
There are events in life that make finding out very important. My wife needed to find out and did. Maybe my friend will too.

About Rand Paul's latests positions, Read over at the Examiner
Over at the Conservative Examiner I read the following. what-on-earth-is-rand-paul-thinking. I started to type a responce but you must have Face Book to post reponses but I refuse to join. I posted my response below instead.
Frankly I am not surprised, why are you. Our political class is a festering hive of pedophiles and sociopaths. So long as we look to the Lords and Ladies of the manner we peasants will always get screwed. Vote out every one of the bastards, every election cycle. Take responsibility back. We need to run for office ourselves, support term limits and make politics a part time job.

Civil War 2 opening shots fired
We have all likely seen the VA administration letters sent out to vets that essentially revoke their 2nd amendment rights. Well the round up seems to have begun. Please spend the 15 minutes to watch this disturbing interview of one of the first victims.
Part 2 Follow up interview about 30mins long
What do you think will happen when Obamacare is more fully implemented and DHS has completed gunning up?
Prepare!

Please get to know your local police
At captainsjournal I read a very interesting post. One of the comments struck a cord and is posted below in its entirety:
In the 70′s I asked my grandfather about 3 bullet scars he had on his chest. He told me they were from the war and wouldnt say more. I knew he was from Germany but little else. He never talked much about his past. Some years later I joined the Marines. He was horrified but wouldn’t say more.
In the 90’s He opened up and told me he was a police officer along with most of his family before the war then was put into a reserve army unit during the war. He had dealt with all sorts of criminals but had never drawn his gun. One day his brother came to talk to him and told him about horrible things the army was doing to other germans. He didn’t believe him and one day his brother and mother left. He didn’t see him for a year. Then there was a school bombing. His police unit was sent to get people who were believed responsible for the bombing. They raided many places and killed many criminals They were told that they had lots more explosives and were planning to bomb more schools. One night they raided a warehouse and killed everyone inside. There were at least 50 people there and there was a huge fire fight. Then they went home to sleep.
A few days later he went to visit his best friend who was also his supervisor and saw some photos on the desk. He recognized it as the building that he raided the night before. He also recognized some of the faces n the photos belonging to the mentally disabled kids his mother took care of. Then he saw his mother and brothers faces in the photos. All dead.
He confronted his friend who told him that these were bad people and they deserved to die. My grandfather pointed out that his mother and brother weren’t criminals. His friend said nothing. The next day my grandfather decided to leave germany but was caught by other police and sent back to his unit. His best friend then shot him in the chest 3 times and had him thrown in the landfill. He woke up a few hours later and stumbled into the forest where he was found by some other people trying to escape and they treated him and got him on a boat to sweden.
He never imagined he would ever hurt anyone, yet he did. So don’t believe for a second that soldiers or police wont kill you in a heart beat. They do what they are told.
To which I posted the following heartfelt advise that I now share with you all:
I’m afraid most people do what they think is right based on the information they are given. Like Joe16′s Grandfather(I pray he is at peace). Our police are not any different. NOW is the time to get to know them. Know your local LEO, Hell buy them a cup of coffee. The time is fast approaching when they have orders to look down their sights. Will they see the enemy they were told about or will the see YOU? Be they guy they know.
No need to talk politics, about your preps( OPSEC is vital as you kno) or about .gov, but just be a known friendly face that they will remember when G-d forbid the time comes. Talk weather and sports, hell even the price of tea in China, just make connections to ensure you, your families and your communities safety. Would you find it easier to shoot an unknown whom you are told is a bad guy or the guy you know to be a good guy?

A rant about CHITS and withdrawal limits and CYPRUS
I go to work and provide a service to my employer and patients. In return for providing my goods and services I am compensated in chits, shown above. These chits are deposited into my bank account by my employer. If I had no bank account they would issue me a "cash card" that they could deposit my chits into so that I may access them for a fee.
I purchase goods and services from others by exchanging these chits for said goods and services. To do so I typically withdraw my chits using a debit card at an ATM. I prefer not to use my card to make purchases and I don't have checks. For some goods and services I have no choice but to use online bill pay but that is another topic for another day.
My bank sets a daily withdrawal limit of 600 chits. This may not appear to be a problem on the surface but it is. Say the good or service I want to exchange my chits for is 601 chits or more. My bank will not allow me to access this amount or higher in a business day. Who is the bank to tell be how many of my chits I can access? These are my chits! They are a representation of my goods and services that I have provided. How dare my access to them be limited!
This has bothered me for quite a while, then it struck me today, CYPRUS. These people are about to take up to a 10% haircut because of the incompetence of their government. If this were to happen here the daily withdrawal limits would make it impossible to get to your chits before the government does. I am sure a bank holiday would be called making in-bank withdrawals impossible and the ATMS would be empty before the banks reopen and your chits have already been re-appropriated by .gov
My advise is to convert your excess chits into tangible assets outside of the banking systems. Buy gold. Buy silver. Buy bullets. Buy anything of intrinsic value that can be converted to feed, shelter or clothe you and yours. Be able to barter and exchange By all means continue to use banks and chits to pay taxes, mortgage/rent and such. But don't leave any excess chits in there. Get them out and exchange them, NOW.

Pope Francis
I hope all people of good will, whether Roman Catholic or not, will join me in praying for the new Pope.
I pray he is guided by Christ Jesus and helps to mend the fissures in Christendom. I pray he leads the Roman Church and the Church in general to a period of peace and great unity around the Lord.
Amen

A Reminder because I care about all of you.
- All guns are always loaded!
- Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy!
- Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target!
- Always be sure of your target!(and what lies beyond)

COEXIST..........NOT
A brilliant graphic I saw over at Kerodins iii percent blog. I can't count the number of Subaru's I've seen a coexist sticker on.
I'd love to get a batch of these printed up.
As a fellow citizen subject of the Peoples Republic of Zoo Jersey I found this article over at cemetery's gun blob very interesting. These people need to be engaged and defeated every time they raise their heads. I repeat, defeated, they can not be bargained with. They can not be negotiated with. Give them NO quarter. I strongly recommend you visit his blog and give it a read.

A New Toy, The Radom P-64
I purchased this little beauty on Gunbroker.com. It is chambered in 9x18 Makarov. Itt is very similar to the Walther that inspired it. My example is a 1970's vintage police/military issue sidearm. It is slightly smaller than a Russian Makarov, roughly palm size. It is very accurate as you can see below.
I fired a box of 50 rounds silver bear hollow point from 7 yards. This was my first time shooting with this gun. I did have 4 failures to return to battery but the gun cleared very fast with scant manipulation. I was using a mix of used and new magazines, shooting in the rain and using hollow points not ball. I did polish the feed ramp after getting home and will report back with results.
Being a small gun it did beat my hand a little and still stung when I got home. The grip is two and a half fingers long so my pinky was crammed onto to the magazine extension, somewhat visible in the picture above. I found the 9x18 to be a nice round, coming from my usual .45 acp. This gun is limited to 6+1 rounds which is probably enough but I'd rather have too many bullets than just enough. I am likely in the market for a CZ-82 which has a slightly larger grip (read pinky friendly) and is 12+1 capacity.
Overall I really enjoyed this little commie gun and will continue to shoot it with joy. The accuracy was outstanding, for me, and the ammo is still cheap and can be had from Hornaday as well as some other non-commieblock manufacturers. This is a very capable concealed carry gun that I would carry with confidence.
I can now report that I like my Radom and my Veper as well as all of my guns designed by The Venerable John Moses Browning.

Stupidity on Parade
I just browsed Foxnews.com and read an article about a Guncontrolconfiscation march in Washington D.C.. One of the geniuses marching was quoted as follows:
James Agenbroad, 78, of Garrett Park, Md., carried a handwritten sign on cardboard that read "Repeal the 2nd Amendment." He called it the only way to stop mass killings because he thinks the Supreme Court will strike down any other restrictions on guns.
"You can repeal it," he said. "We repealed prohibition."

We repealed Prohibition what the hell does this dumbass think repealing the second ammendment will be tantamount too. PROHIBITION and the ensuing Chicago style good times occured because booze was illegalized, what the hell does this assclown think will happen if the natural right of self defence is infringed.
